Randy Craig

Randy Craig received a BA in Theatre Arts from Pomona College. Randy was an actor, composer and band leader with the San Francisco Mime Troupe early on, and he was a founding member of both The Pickle Family Circus and San Francisco Make*A*Circus. He has been composer and musical director at many San Francisco theaters, including Teatro Zinzanni, The Magic Theatre and The Aurora Theatre. He has taught and composed music at the SF Arts Education Project, Contra Costa College with The Young Actors’ Workshop and Humboldt State University and Long Beach State University in Cal State Summer Arts. Randy has written more than 40 scores for theatre and 16 films. His work has been seen at the Mill Valley Film Festival, The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival and others around the world. He has won a Bay Area Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical Score, participated in two Obie Award-winning plays and scored an Academy Award nominated film. He is currently an Artist-In-Residence at the School Of The Arts High School in San Francisco (SOTA), at the Community Music Center in San Francisco and at Park Day School in Oakland. He also teaches privately. Randy plays piano and keyboards in several San Francisco Bay Area jazz, rock, funk and New Orleans bands.
